Lynnette, Levi and I will be headed over to Atlanta on Monday for Passion 07. We have had the joy of being a small part of the Passion movement since it's inception (over 10 years ago). This week over 22000 college students from around the world will gather together for 4 days for the sole purpose of making much of Jesus Christ. Pray that God will meet us there in power and that He will display His greatness (if He is present these things certainly will happen). The Kingdom potential of these days is amazing.
Many of you probably know Passion from it's worship music. We actually sing a lot of "Passion" music at Pinelake. Chris Tomlin, David Crowder, Charlie Hall, Matt Redman and Louie Giglio are well known names in worship circles around the world. These guys and a few more folks make up the core of the ministry known as Passion/Six Steps Records. Louie began this ministry out of a vision that God gave him 12 years ago to impact the campuses of America. And while Louie has been relentless in pursuing that vision, God has been faithful in accomplishing more than anyone could have imagined. God has granted favor to this ministry because this ministry has consistently lifted up His name and His renown above their own. It's been staggering to watch what God can do with people surrendered to Himself.
Pray for me this week as I facilitate/teach a community group of college students at Passion 07. There will be over 1000 students in the group that I have been asked to lead. These students will come from hundreds of different campuses from all over the world. Shane Barnard will be leading along with me (pray for him as well). Please pray for a deep renewal for the college students who will be there. Pray specifically that Jesus will be elevated over all. We are humbled to be able to serve in such a strategic place. Pray specifically that my heart will be focused and that I will not be pre-occupied with the things of this earth. I am excited to go...but I am asking the Lord to allow me to be fully present and valuable for His Kingdoms work.
